What scares us about someone
whom we love dying is that it
reminds us of what awaits all.
It is a glimpse into the future
that we can not escape.
Death–it speaks to us in no
recognizable words, only whispers
and small mutterings. It reveals
too little to assure us, leaving us
with speculation and fear.
Yet this does not have to be.
There are some who come to terms
with their mortality. What is it
that they know that relieves them
of this universal fear? The secret
lies within, my friends. Listen
carefully when your heart speaks
for all is revealed to he
who cares to listen.
